Boa Morte: No repeats

Luis Boa Morte had every reason to feel aggrieved at finishing on the losing side against Liverpool, but the Fulham striker is refusing to wallow in his misfortune.

Boa Morte fired Fulham into a two-goal lead only for Liverpool to respond with four secondhalf strikes, but he remains upbeat and is urging his team-mates to seize the initiative against Aston Villa tomorrow.

"We cannot give up, we have to keep playing and fighting for what we want," he said.

"We cannot wait for things to happen without making any effort, so everyone is ready to make that effort and fight for the club.

"I was little disappointed [after the Liverpool match] because at the end of the day we let slip our chance to collect three points. But you always have positives even on a bad day. Against Liverpool we can say it was 45 minutes of positive and 45 minutes of negative, but we

Fulham's task tomorrow will be aided by the return of Andrew Cole from suspension.

"It is a big boost for us that he is back," said Boa Morte. "He has been playing really good this season and he is our top scorer, but we have other strikers with potential - Brian McBride, Collins John and Tomasz Radzinski."

The league table supports Boa Morte's sentiments. Fulham have scored more goals than both Manchester United and Chelsea, but only Blackburn have a poorer defensive record.

Recently, manager Chris Coleman has indicated some of his players are "cruising", and although that accusation could not be levelled at Boa Morte, the Portuguese nevertheless believes he can make a greater contribution.
