Blackstock begs for chance to save Sousa

Dexter Blackstock claims he is ready to shoulder the responsibility for ending Queens Park Rangers' goal-drought and ease the pressure on manager Paulo Sousa.

A run of seven games without a win has raised doubts about Sousa's long-term future at Loftus Road. With only 10 games remaining, QPR must quickly rediscover the winning formula if they are to force their way back into Championship play-off contention.

Victory at Doncaster tonight will revive hope but after netting just once in four games, Rangers are in desperate need of a cutting edge.

Blackstock has been paired up front with Samuel Di Carmine for the last two games against Sheffield United and Norwich without much success.

But with Colombian Angelo Balanta pressing for a start, leading scorer Blackstock has begged his manager not to leave him out again.

He said: "I don't want to be known as supersub. I'm certainly not that. Like anyone else, I'd prefer to start."
