Premier League betting preview: Arsenal tipped to finish above Tottenham with Conte's Chelsea third favourites for title

Pep Guardiola has already spent more than £120million during the summer to transform Manchester City into title contenders but punters seem to have dismissed their chances ahead of the start of the new Premier League season.

The City boss bought Ilkay Gundogan for £21m, Nolito for £13.8m, Oleksandr Zinchenko for £1.7m, John Stones for £47.5m and Leroy Sane for a fee that could rise to £41.5m.

City were 7-4 to be crowned Premier League champions but they are now available at 5-2 with BetVictor, who are one of the top World Cup betting sites.

Arsenal are 6-1, while north London rivals Tottenham trade at 8s along with Liverpool, another team who will not have the distraction of European football. Arsenal are also 4-7 with BetVictor to finish above Tottenham for a 22nd consecutive season.

At the other end of the table, newly-promoted Hull are 4-6 favourites to be relegated on betting sites. The market suggests they will be joined by Burnley (10-11) and Middlesbrough (7-4).

Tottenham’s Harry Kane failed to fire at the Euros but he is the 5-1 second favourite to be the Premier League’s top scorer behind Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero (10-3), with United new-boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic priced at 9-1. Aguero topping the scoring charts and City winning the title is 8-1.

Swansea’s Francesco Guidolin is BetVictor’s 9-2 favourite to be the first Premier League manager to leave his post. Arsene Wenger, at 40s, would appear to have the safest managerial seat in the top flight, despite many Arsenal fans venting their frustration at him during last season.
