Taylor, an 11-times world champion, was well on top when the match was halted. He urged Fordham to learn from the warning and lose weight.
"I am absolutely devastated, not just for myself but for the people who have paid all the money," Taylor said.
"During that set Andy said, 'I can't get my breath, I can't breathe'. I said 'Do you want to have a break?' and he said, 'I need to, yeah'.
"Andy's size has got a lot to do with it, I think. He's a big lad and it's very, very, very hot down there. The ceilings are very low and it's very, very hot. It's 100 degrees plus and I think it has taken its toll on him.
"He's got to do something. Andy has told me that he is going to be on Celebrity Fat Club and it's going to be the boost that he needed.
"As a friend to Andy, he's got to do it. He has got to drop the weight - and so do I. If he doesn't, it's going to kill him."
