Bath to appeal Grewcock ban

Bath intend to appeal against the five-week ban imposed on captain Danny Grewcock by an RFU disciplinary panel on Tuesday.

The Lions lock was punished for 'reckless use of the boot', after he was dismissed for kicking Saracens scrum half Kyran Bracken in the face.

But Bath issued a statement yesterday, saying: 'After careful consideration we have decided that there are sufficient grounds to lodge an appeal against Danny Grewcock's conviction and sentence.'
