Krasner said: "I have never met Ken Bates, or spoken with him or any of his representatives. Whether he is talking with one of the two consortiums bidding for the club I don't know."
Bates failed in a bid to buy into Sheffield Wednesday last year.
The 73-year-old has been keen to return to football for some time, having left Chelsea earlier than anticipated - he was expected to continue as chairman until the end of this season.
However, his departure was hastened following the arrival of Peter Kenyon as chief executive.
