Aussies laugh off spying on the Scots

Scotland received a wounding put down today when Australian team officials laughed off allegations that spies for the Wallabies had secretly filmed the training sessions of their quarter-final opponents.

"Spy on Scotland? What for?" was the retort of the Wallabies' communications manager Djuro Sen on hearing the suggestions, made in a Scottish newspaper, that two Australian spies had infiltrated the Scots' camp. "If we wanted to spy on Scotland, we would do it in the game against Fiji," added Sen.

The Scots' struggled to beat the Fijians 22-20 on Saturday.
