Aussies in eleventh heaven

Australia have equalled the world record for successive Test wins after thrashing the West Indies by an innings and 126 runs at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Steve Waugh's side wrapped up their 11th consecutive victory to match the exploits of Clive Lloyd's awesome West Indies team in the mid 80s.

After bowling the tourists out for 82 on day one, Australia followed their battling 332 by restricting the woeful Windies to just 124 in their second innings.

Man-of-the-match Glenn McGrath added another four wickets to the six he picked up in the first innings to finish with amazing figures of 10 for 27.

And he was ably supported by fellow paceman Brett Lee (3-40), as only Shivnarine Chanderpaul (62no) offered any resistance to the home side's attack.

Skipper Waugh said: "It was a great team performance. Batting, everyone chipped in nicely, bowling-wise I thought Glenn McGrath was tremendous and the fielding was pretty good as well.
