Clerk of the course James Armstrong said: "No frost has got in the ground and we're cautiously optimistic. We might struggle if temperatures get down to -4C, but we'll keep our fingers crossed."
Haydock's six-race card, which features the Tommy Whittle Handicap Chase, must also pass an 8.00am inspection, but clerk of the course Kirkland Tellwright remains upbeat.
He said: "We could have raced today. We couldn't cope with snow, but there is none forecast. It is just a matter of whether the frost covers hold out - they slow down the rate that the frost gets into the ground.
"We are due to get down to -4C tonight, and that's plenty low enough. Though clerks of the courses are famous for doing public U-turns, we are quietly optimistic."
Channel 4 cameras will be in attendance and there will also be live coverage from Lingfield's all-weather card. Wolverhampton's all-weather meeting is also expected to beat the freeze.
