Arsenal fans face confusion over what to call home

Everything's so simple at the moment. When Arsenal supporters want to watch Thierry Henry score goals they know exactly where to go - Highbury. But when the club move ground, will the fans talk about going to the Emirates Stadium or Ashburton Grove, will they still call it Highbury or just avoid the subject? It is a dilemma increasingly familiar to fans up and down the country. In order to help Arsenal's supporters make up their mind, Standard Sport counselled some opinions.

SOUTHAMPTON: Friends Provident Stadium or St Mary's? "All fans know it as St Mary's. Friends Provident is not a big enough brand name. The club's tradition is around St Mary's - it is where we were founded." Andy Saunders, London Saints Supporters Club

LEICESTER CITY: Walkers Stadium "Many call it the Walkers Stadium because it is plastered everywhere by the media. But it dosen't fit in with what football fans want. However, there is a road that runs around the stadium that the council have allowed to be called Filbert Way, after our old stadium Filbert Street. This is what the ground is called among the many supporters that do object to sponsored stadiums." Lance Tomlyn, Leicester City Independent Supporters Association

WYCOMBE: Causeway Stadium or Adams Park? "It is always Adams Park. The only people that would call it the Causeway Stadium are the media people. All Wycombe Wanderers fans know it as Adams Park." Colin Butler, Wycombe Wanderers Independent Supporters Club

HUDDERSFIELD: McAlpine Stadium or Galpharm Stadium? Construction and engineering firm Alfred McAlpine has not renewed its sponsorship of the stadium. It takes the name of pharmaceutical firm Galpharm. "McAlpine is the name we had when we started here 10 years ago, and so many still call it that. Things don't change overnight and there is a resistance to change. Some fans still call the ground Leeds Road, even though that's the name of the old stadium before we moved here." MIDDLESBROUGH: BT Cellnet or Riverside Stadium? BT Cellnet no longer sponsors the stadium. "We always call it the Riverside Stadium. No-one ever still refers to our home as our old home, Ayresome Park. That place held a lot of good memories, but we are moving forward." Stuart Bargewell, Middlesbrough Official Supporters Club
