The Indians began their tour with a defeat in the high-scoring warmup game against Pakistan A in Lahore. India made 335 for six in their 50 overs but the hosts blazed their way to 336 for four with four overs to spare. The first one-day international takes place on Saturday in Karachi.
Australia were in the driving seat at the end of the fourth day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka in Galle after declaring after making 512 for eight.
Matthew Hayden was dismissed for 130 before Damien Martyn (110) and Darren Lehman (129) added 206. Muttiah Muralitharan picked up five for 153.
Sri Lanka were three without loss at the close openers as they faced a victory target of 352.
