Aries is set to star for Channon

Mick Channon's horses have been in unstoppable form in recent weeks and the West Ilsley trainer looks set for further success with Aries in tomorrow's £10,000 Tote David Wood Fillies' Nursery Stakes.

The daughter of Big Shuffle has run several fine races in defeat since landing a modest event at Folkestone in July.

Following a staying-on fourth to Peripheral at Chester she reappeared at last week's Newmarket meeting and took second place behind Garmoucheh in a competitive 18-runner handicap.

With talented Chris Catlin in the saddle she can go one better.

Sir Mark Prescott's fields the prolific winner Zingari. She landed the odds in easy fashion when making all the running to beat Lady Pan Jammer by half a length in a 0-85 handicap at Pontefract last month and appears the likely danger.

Polka Princess will have her supporters following her one and a half length defeat of Regimental Dance over tomorrow's course and distance. However, the David Nicholls-trained runner-up had no sort of luck in running that day and with a significant 'pull' in the weights, it would come as no surprise if the form was reversed.

The opening Lancashire Maiden Stakes appears to offer Percy Douglas a sound opportunity to open his winning account.

He can boast a creditable ninth of 14 to Wunder's Dream in the Flying Childers Stakes at Doncaster and a seventh to Bella Tusa in a Listed race at Ayr last time out.
