Aragones fine laughable, says Henry

Thierry Henry has branded Luis Aragones' £2,000 fine by the Spanish FA "absolutely ridiculous" and urged FIFA to take stronger action against the Spain coach.

Henry is calling on the world governing body to intervene and hand out a proper punishment to the coach who called the Arsenal striker a "black s***" in a training session.

"It's up to FIFA to step in - they are the only ones who can do something," said Henry. "They say they run the game, so now it's up to them to lead by example.

"They should look at this fine and make it a proper one. They must also tell the Spanish FA to get real."

Although Aragones has publicly apologised to Henry for causing offence, the French striker believes such a small fine will do little to alert the Spanish public to the issue of racism.

He said: "To fine Aragones £2,000 is absolutely ridiculous. You have to look at the Spanish authorities and they must take a long look at themselves. They obviously don't care about racism. There have been other times when they have fined clubs a few hundred quid for racism.
