Angry Sol blames politics

Sol Campbell insisted today he has been punished more severely for his disciplinary problems than other players because of "football politics".

Campbell's comments are made on his new DVD, Sol Man - The Story of Sol Campbell, which is released next week.

Referring to the Football Association's refusal to grant him a personal hearing over his red card against Manchester United last season, Campbell said: "It was like an innocent man going down.

"Everybody knew he was innocent but they turned their backs and said, 'See you later.' It was just politics."
