Allen's men put the celebrations on hold

Deon Burton argues that Brentford have nothing to celebrate despite reaching the League One play-offs.

The Jamaican international issued a rallying call today following their 2-1 victory at Wrexham, urging his team-mates to stay focused on winning promotion.

Burton said: "We're delighted to have made it into the play-offs but we can't start celebrating anything yet. We know the hard work is still to come. We still have one league game left, against Hull on Saturday, before the play-offs." After a run of three successive defeats, Brentford started poorly at the Racecourse Ground against a side which needed to win to stand any chance of avoiding relegation.

Eddie Hutchinson's own goal put Wrexham in front and keeper Stuart Nelson needed to be on top form to keep the score down to 1-0 at half-time.

But the game changed after the interval, with Brentford showing a far greater sense of purpose. Isaiah Rankin's diving header levelled the scores and striker Scott Fitzgerald fired in a last-minute winner. Brentford manager Martin Allen said: "The last couple of weeks have been tough. We've not been taking the chances to secure a topsix finish, but finally we've done it.

"In the second half the players showed they can play. But it's important we don't get too carried away.
