All aboard 'The Bus' for Florida stop

The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping what's driving 'The Bus' will carry them to this year's Super Bowl.

Sunday sees America's Super Bowl 'semi-finals' when the Steelers take on the New England Patriots at home and the Philadelphia Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons, with the winners heading for Jacksonville in Florida for the big game on 6 February.

Steelers powerhouse running back Jerome Bettis is the man fans call 'The Bus' and his drive to win a Super Bowl ring comes from having never made it to the game that gives the winners the right to be known as 'World Champions' and become holders of the Vince Lombardi trophy. He's a 12-yearveteranof the NFL and at 32 knows this could be his last chance.

He even took a $2 million dollar-plus pay cut to stay with the Steelers this season and wasn't even a regular starting player for a while. But when he got his chance to restake his claim he grabbed it and in the previous round play-off win over the New York Jets he racked up 101 yards on 27 carries and scored a touchdown.

Steelers head coach, Bill Cowher has hinted that 'The Bus' will be running from the start against the Patriots. They go into the game having won 14 of their 16 regular season match-ups and one of those two losses came in Pittsburgh on Halloween, 34-20. The reigning champions had better remember that fright and the fact that the Steelers were 15-1 for the season.

The 13-3 Eagles will be hoping quarterback Donovan McNabb can lead them to the Super Bowl after they fell at the semi-final hurdle for the last three seasons, with two of those defeats coming at home. In their way will be star passer Michael Vick whose Falcons, at 11-5 in the regular season, have the poorest record of the final four teams in the hunt.
