"Having to go back to the bench again hurts and after a while it can only go wrong for you.
"If you get the opportunity to take over five or six times, do as well as I did and then still don't get the trust you deserve then things can only go wrong from there.

Wenger, meanwhile, has been given until tomorrow to make up his mind about buying Olivier Dacourt.
The Leeds United midfielder says Juventus and Arsenal are vying for his £15million transfer but if there is no quick deal he will stay at Elland Road.
Dacourt said: "Other than Juventus, Arsenal are also interested, but I need to know. I don't want to join a team just before the start of the championship. Therefore, it's clear for me, I will leave by Saturday or I stay at Leeds.
"We are leaving soon for a 15-day tour of Australia and Hong Kong and I can't see myself returning from there to discuss a transfer."
