Nicholls has another horse in great form in the shape of Royal Charm - who the trainer calls a "machine" - and he can get the better of Nicky Henderson's smart prospect General Miller in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle (3.10).
Royal Charm has been brought along steadily and impressed in two bloodless victories at Exeter and he will relish the testing ground tomorrow.
Though General Miller looked good when winning here on his jumping debut, Nicholls, who trained runner-up Ghizao, rates Royal Charm the better of the pair.
Finally but not least at Cheltenham, the Scottish-trained Lie Forrit can make the long trip south pay off by making the most of the absence of Karabak in the three-mile Betfair Cleeve Hurdle (3.40).
Trailblazing Mr Thriller will set the race up and while Lie Forrit missed some valuable work because of the snow up in the Scottish borders, he is an in-form stayer and is capable of completing a hat-trick.
At Doncaster, The Betchworth Kid steps up in trip for the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle (2.50) and though he hails from trainer Alan King's in-form stable, he is still inexperienced.
He might, therefore, have to play second fiddle to the versatile seven-year-old Possol, who is chasing a treble and looked very professional here and at Ascot this season.
In the highly-competitive Sky Bet Chase (3.25), Exmoor Ranger, who won going away over 2m 6f at Newbury's Hennessy meeting, can improve still further in this three-mile Listed event - and the booking of Davy Russell is significant.
