The unpainted lady

It takes nearly an hour every morning to create the face she wants to be seen in.

First Jodie Marsh fills in her eyebrows and outlines her eyes. Then there is eyeshadow to be caked on and endless layers of mascara. Foundation, bronzer, blusher and concealer colour in her complexion. Her mouth doubles in size thanks to a lurid pink lipstick.

But a glimpse at Miss Marsh without the usual bucket of make up shows she might actually be better going without. But it was only a glimpse. She makes sure to trowel on her favourite products within moments of waking.

The 27-year-old Essex girl who made her name as a pin-up is making big efforts with her appearance while in the Celebrity Big Brother house. But her painstaking beauty routine has had little effect on her male housemates.

So far they seem to prefer Paris Hilton-lookalike Chantelle Houghton, Baywatch actress Traci Bingham and even the more mature Rula Lenska.

After stripping down to her underwear with no apparent effect at the weekend, Miss Marsh decided to become a little more outrageous.

'I've had orgies before,' she boasted on last night's programme on Channel Four. 'Five of us. Best night of my life.'

She then explained that she would like to sleep with Pamela Anderson 'as she's the most beautiful-woman in the world'. When that failed to attract any interest from the men, she decided to enlist the help of Miss Houghton, the only person in the house with not even a tenuous claim to fame.

Holding her hand, Miss Marsh grabbed Preston from the band the Ordinary Boys and told him: 'The three of us should just snog'.

Later, she jumped on Maggot from the band Goldie Lookin' Chain and pushed her cleavage in his face. He seemed unimpressed, protesting: 'I can't breathe.'

At the end of the night Preston found a hopeful Miss Marsh and Miss Houghton in his bed. He dragged them both out.
