Frank Presland, of Sir Elton's management company Twenty-First Artists, said: 'He regards himself as extremely fortunate not to have been a victim of Aids; and extremely fortunate to have had such a long career, to be an iconic figure. He thinks he is very lucky and he shares that luck. I'm sure other people in very different circles can spend much more time doing charitable stuff than he does, but he is better able to have a huge impact.
