The original Star Wars saga began with one simple act – not an explosion, nor a space battle, nor the swoosh of a lightsaber.

No, the pivotal event that kicked everything off was Princess Leia storing the stolen plans to the Empire’s new Death Star weapon inside the droid R2-D2.

That information allowed the Rebel Alliance to find a weak spot in the ship’s design and blow it up – but where did those stolen plans come from in the first place?

Enter new film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first of many planned spin-offs set in the same universe as the originals.

Coming this December, the film stars Felicity Jones as Jyn Erso – the leader of the team who go on a daring mission to capture information on the Death Star, and play their part in ending the evil Empire.

A new Rogue One trailer has now arrived, and it’s looking very exciting – bringing the ‘war’ back into Star Wars, it presents a slightly grittier feel to The Force Awakens, with incredible design work that evokes the original trilogy.
