Number one house DJ and Faithless star Sister Bliss joined us at This is London to give us a sneak preview of the next Faithless album and tell all about the Budweiser King of Clubs event she'll soon be performing at a top secret London venue. And pssst, she also let us in on what she loves and hates about the capital...

Hi Sister Bliss! How are you at the moment?

Very well thanks, just packing my suitcase for the Miami Music conference where I'll be DJ ing at the Ultra festival.

You live in North London, why is it your favourite place?

It’s close to family and friends and also the studios where I record and rehearse.

You've performed all over the world, but what's your favourite club in the capital to play a set at?

I would have to say my favourite club in London is Turnmills where I have a residency (Gallery)- the music policy is consistently adventurous and the crowd are always fantastic - this place just goes from strength to strength.

Faithless are heading off on tour in Autumn this year. Where will you be performing?

We are performing headline sets at most of the major european festivals this summer, kicking off with Homelands in good old Blighty. We'll be embarking on a global tour in autumn and our own european tour in Winter

What do you miss most when you're away from London?

My kitchen and my friends and loved ones.

The fourth Faithless album - No Roots - is out in May, can you tell us what we can expect from it?

I think its our strongest album yet - its a departure from the usual Faithless eclectisism- its one piece of music which flows like a soundtrack. It also features fantastic guest vocalist LSK (who released his own excellent album 'Outlaw' on Sony which we fell in love with), and Dido also guests on this album. The title track 'No Roots' is currently being used as the theme music for the new ITV series 'Life Begins' which has viewing figures of 10 million each week which is a nice way to start the music coming into the public consciousness!

You'll be Djing with Maxi Jazz at the Budweiser King of Clubs night coming up on March 20, what's your favourite tune of the moment - and how do you like to play your set?

There's some really great records around at the moment- one of my faves is a bootleg of Beastie Boys 'Intergalactic'- really rocking! And also Oakish by Wink is old school acid mania at its best. I like to play everything from punk- house, to electro to tribal, progressive and techno as long as the tracks have the funk and /or beautiful melodies/great basslines.....

What's your top tipple on a night out?

Vodka and tonic

What's your favourite London pub?

St Johns in Archway

What was the last CD you bought?

Scissor sisters album

What's your life philosopy?

Try to be fulfilled in everything I do and not to settle for mediocrity

What gets your goat about the city?

The high cost of public transport is appalling, the arse-ache of getting accross town- it kills sponteneity! the large numbers of dispossesed people in a rich city like London where there's more than enough to go round!
