Rupert Grint is 'most fanciable' of Harry Potter cast

Rupert Grint has beaten Daniel Radcliffe and Robert Pattinson to be voted the most fanciable Harry Potter star.

A poll of fans at the launch of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II on DVD and BluRay, revealed that a third were most attracted to Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the films.

Tom Felton, otherwise known as blonde bad boy Draco Malfoy, came second with 22 per cent of the vote.

Robbie Coltrane, who plays the hulking Hogwarts gamekeeper Rubeus Hagrid, was branded the least fanciable with just 2 per cent of the vote. Second from the bottom, with 6 per cent, was Harry Potter himself, aka Daniel Radcliffe.

Surprisingly Robert Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, but is better known as vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen in the Twilight saga, left Potter fans cold, with just 12 per cent voting him the most fanciable.

The Wand Company, which manufactures "magic wand" remote controls, surveyed the first 100 people queuing outside Harrods to get their hands on the final film in the series today.

It found that 49 per cent believed that Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) had the most promising future film career, while 29 per cent went for Grint and 22 per cent for Radcliffe.

An overwhelming majority of 89 per cent said they preferred the books to the films.

Chris Barnado, co-founder of The Wand Company, said: "It's interesting that even with die-hard Harry Potter fans who queued for the final Blu-Ray release, most preferred the magic of the books to the film. I think this helps settle an age-old debate, showing that our imagination can put on a better show than any CGI special effects Hollywood can offer."
