By its nature, the Karlovy Vary Film Festival, set in an old-fashioned, fairytale Bohemian spa town, is not about films that make a lot of money. But, after a chequered 40-year history, it has recently become a more significant fixture on the festival calendar. And it does know a thing or two about celebrities, this year with a fleet of new Mercedes ferrying a procession of stars on the 90-minute drive from Prague.
