Programme maker Celador has offered refunds to anyone hoping to attend more than one show.
Photographs will also be taken of the winners to ensure no one makes it on stage more than once during the tour, which moves on to Jersey, Grimsby, Bournemouth, Harrogate and Torquay.
The show spends several nights at each venue. Further venues are still to be confirmed.
A spokesman for Celador confirmed the rules had been altered. 'We wanted to make sure that it was not always the same people, quizzing enthusiasts, who got on to stage every night.'
Two years ago former army major Charles Ingram, his wife Diana and college lecturer Tecwen Whittock were convicted of trying to defraud the TV version of the quiz of £1million. Whittock used a series of coded coughs to alert Ingram to the correct answers.
