Queen (the royal one) hosts youth gig

The Queen is to hold a concert for 200 inner-city schoolchildren at Buckingham Palace, it was announced yesterday.

The event, on the morning of March 1, will feature classical music and a choir. If the children are well behaved they may get to stay on for the evening reception.

Then they will be able to rub shoulders with rock and pop stars such as Phil Collins, Brian May and Jools Holland, who have all been invited.

Whether the youngsters will be interested in these musical veterans is another matter. Jamie Cullum and veteran trumpet player Humphrey Lyttleton are also expected to attend.

The event recognises the excellence and importance of the £5billion-a-year music industry to Britain.
