The wait is finally over as the gender of Mummy Pig’s baby has been revealed.

Now, it’s the beginning of a brand-new chapter for four-year-old Peppa and her family – and the biggest shake-up in the show’s 20-year history.

After Mummy Pig posed for a series of celebrity-inspired bump photos inspired by the likes of Beyonce and Katy Perry following her pregnancy announcement, the gender reveal was never going to be low-key.

A special party was hosted at the Peppa Pig store inside London’s Battersea Power Station on Friday featuring baby-themed fun, character appearances and cupcakes.

There was also fundraising in support of NCT (National Children’s Trust), the UK’s leading charity for pregnancy and parents, which was announced earlier this month as the official “Pregnancy and Parenting Charity Partner” for Peppa Pig in the UK.

We’ll put you out of your misery and tell you that the baby is a girl, however her name has yet to be revealed.

As the sun sets later on Friday, the iconic Battersea Power Station chimneys will light up pink at 8pm to reveal the baby’s gender, following a night of colour-changing lights between pink and blue to build anticipation.

Fans will be officially introduced to the latest addition to the Pig family, in Peppa Meets the Baby, a brand-new cinema experience launching May 30 in over 2,600 cinemas across 19 countries.

The hour-long, song-filled screening features 10 brand-new episodes, as Peppa and her two-year-old brother George prepare for the arrival of their baby sister.

In addition, the gender reveal episode will air on YouTube on May 3 as part of the Peppa Pig Tales series.

Confirming her pregnancy in an interview on Good Morning Britain, Mummy Pig admitted feeling “a little overwhelmed at the thought of having three children under five running around.”

She explained that Peppa had to be informed immediately, as she is “such a curious thing.” Although there had been “the occasional wobble and worry,” Mummy Pig reassured fans that the family is “mostly so excited.”
