Of Channel 4's decision to screen the sitcom on Friday nights - traditionally the home of alternative comedy - he said: "I'm hoping it brings back family viewing."
Producer Atalla, 33, agreed: "We tried to make a sweet, silly, innocent, childish show that was free from cynicism and any kind of bleak humour.
"I think, I hope, we've succeeded. There's not a single paedophile in it."
