Nic and Bing caught on camera

Both of them have a long history of troubled relationships and acrimonious break-ups.

But for the moment, Nicole Kidman and Steve Bing seem to be getting along like a mansion on fire.

The multi-millionairess actress and the even-richer film producer have been seeing each other for the past few weeks.

And now they have been pictured together for the first time, leaving a Los Angeles recording studio.

The couple, both in jeans, must have been fully aware that they were likely to be photographed if they appeared in public side by side.

'They looked very comfortable together,' said a passer-by who saw them getting into Bing's car. Miss Kidman, 37, and 39-year-old Bing have made little attempt to be discreet on a string of previous dates. Recently they twice enjoyed dinner at Il Cantinori - an Italian restaurant near her home in New York which is traditionally chosen by celebrity couples who wish it to be known that they are an item.

And they surprised fellow diners at the Polo Lounge in Beverly Hills by blowing out the candles on their table and passionately kissing.

They also spent the Thanksgiving holiday together, dining at Trader Vic's restaurant in Los Angeles, where they were spotted 'giggling and snuggling up to each other like two teenagers'.

Miss Kidman, who has two adopted children, parted from Tom Cruise three years ago after 11 years of marriage. Among the men with whom she has since been linked are rocker Lenny Kravitz, singer Robbie Williams, Spiderman actor Tobey Maguire, rugby tycoon Eric Watson, rapper Q Tipp and movie star Russell Crowe.

With Bing, she at least knows she is not dating a man who is after her money. As well as his film income, the grey-haired American is the heir to a £400million property fortune.

Bing's most famous old flame is of course the British actress and model Elizabeth Hurley, who had a son, Damian, after they broke up.

She insisted that Bing was the father but he disputed the fact and it had to be settled by a DNA test.
