More than the dogs...

It's the first time Walthamstow has put together a festival weekend and it's a great programme of entertainment. On Sat 6 Sep, check out local writers in the afternoon, then singer Imtiaz Mirza performs ghazal music.

At 8.30pm, McGuffins Open Air Cinema will be screening short films about East End life and Monsoon Wedding. Sun 7 Sep is the main day, with four outdoor stages and a diverse programme including reggae, jazz fusion, hiphop, garage, Romany and dervish music.

A giant fireworks display and circus performance from Bright FX rounds off the show. Associated events include arts and crafts and children's areas, a strongman arena, alternative therapies and a trapeze artist called the Flying Elvis.
