Monty's Spanish pin-up

Colin Montgomerie must be pinching himself. After the nightmare of his divorce, the champion golfer seems to have found a dream woman.

With her curvaceous figure and exotic smile, Ines Sastre is one of the world's most sought-after models.

She is also much more than a pretty face, having studied literature at the Sorbonne in Paris.

And if that wasn't enough, she absolutely adores golf.

Montgomerie, 41, former European golf champion, met Miss Sastre, 30, at Scotland's celebrity pro-am Dunhill Links tournament earlier this month.

She was playing in the amateur category while he, naturally, was among the professionals.

Earlier this week both were in the Spanish capital for the Madrid Open.

They spent Friday night having dinner at fashionable restaurant Lando and met up again the following night.

'They came in together and sat at a table for two,' said a fellow diner. 'They were laughing and joking around and at some point appeared to be deep in conversation.

'From the amount of laughter at the table, it was obvious they were having a very enjoyable time.'

Friends say Montgomerie, who is currently playing in the Valderrama tournament in Spain, is the happiest he has been in years.

The break-up of his 14-year marriage in September left him devastated.

He and his wife Eimear have three children Olivia, ten, Venetia, seven, and five-year-old Cameron.

He had spent four years trying to save the marriage before the couple divorced.

At the time, Mrs Montgomerie, 34, complained her husband's devotion to golf had caused her 'anxiety and depression'.

Yesterday, speaking outside the £4million family home in Oxshott, Surrey, she said: 'I have met Miss Sastre. She is a very keen golfer. I want Colin to be happy and wish him all the best.'

Montgomerie, whose divorce coincided with troubles on the golf course, rediscovered his form in last month's Ryder Cup, sinking the winning putt for the European team against America.

Miss Sastre, the face of cosmetics company Lancome, lives in Chelsea and has spoken often of her appreciation for British men.
