McKayla Maroney has offered her support to Simone Biles amid her bitter feud with McKayla Skinner following the US women’s gymnastic team’s big win at the Paris Olympics.

In a now-deleted YouTube video, former Olympic gymnastic Skinner, 27, claimed that besides Biles, the “girls just don't have the work ethic” or “talent”.

Taking to Instagram in the moments after their triumph on Tuesday, Biles, also 27, shared a picture of her team mates with her caption appearing to take aim at Skinner.

It read: “Lack of talent, lazy, Olympic champions.”

Now, former Team USA star and 2012 gold medalist Maroney, 28, seems to have also weighed-in.

Responding in the comments section, Maroney first congratulated Biles and then jokingly apologised, seemingly because her first name is similar to Skinner’s.

“It doesn’t get more iconic than this... She f’d around n found out fr,” Maroney penned . “Feels like I need to apologize just to redeem my first name.”

Skinner - who won a silver medal on vault at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics - meanwhile did not comment on Biles’ post, instead opting to share a photo of the winning US team from July 30 on her Instagram Stories along with three heart emojis.

The following day however, Biles wrote, “oops I’ve been blocked,” prompting fans to speculate that the person who blocked her was Skinner.

The speculation appeared to be confirmed by Biles’ teammate Jordan Chiles, who shared a picture of Biles’ phone, revealing she was unable to see any of Skinner’s posts on Instagram.

“When she blocks Simone,” she wrote alongside the snap.
