Little Britain heads for the stage

The TV comedy hit Little Britain will be turned into a live stage show, its creators have revealed.

Matt Lucas and David Walliams said a theatre version of the BBC series will probably premiere in Edinburgh before touring the UK next year.

While the stage show is in the early stages of planning, it is likely to feature the characters which have made the TV series a huge success, such as delinquent adolescent Vicky Pollard, Marjorie Dawes the tubby weight-loss instructor and wheelchair-bound Andy and his helper Lou.

The second series of Little Britain started on BBC Three last night.
