Kylie's magic at premiere

Florence never looked like this. Fans of The Magic Roundabout will remember her as a frizzy-haired girl with a blue bow.

In Leicester Square yesterday, however, she was wearing a tight-fitting red dress with plunging neckline - and looking extraordinarily like Kylie Minogue.

The 36-year-old singer provides the voice of the character from the classic children's animated series in a £20million big screen version which had its premiere yesterday.

Dougal the dog is voiced by Robbie Williams, with Bill Nighy as spaced-out rabbit Dylan, Jim Broadbent as Brian the snail, Joanna Lumley as Ermintrude the cow and Sir Ian McKellen as Zebedee - famous for his 'time for bed' catchphrase which sent millions of toddlers off to sleep in the Sixties.

The film retains the sly drug references which made The Magic Roundabout one of the most controversial children's programmes ever made. Miss Minogue said: 'I am glad they kept the 1960s references. Some of the jokes are for adults and some for children, although I still think this is a family film.'
