How long have you lived there?
Seven years.

What advice would you give to a tourist?
Don't stop walking suddenly in the middle of a busy street.

What is your earliest London memory?
I'm not sure - I was born here, so I can remember pretty far back. Possibly walking the dogs with Dad in Hyde Park.

What do you miss most when you're out of London?
My best friends who I grew up with - I don't get to see them much, so when I'm back here, we hang out. I ring, text and e-mail them from wherever I am so we're always in contact.

What are your favourite home comforts?
My bed... I had it custom-made by Savoir Beds. It is just so incredibly comfy - I could spend all day in it!

What would you do if you were Mayor for the day?
I would never want to be Mayor for a day.

What is your life philosophy?
Live and let live.

What was the last book you bought and where did you buy it?
A Million Little Pieces by James Frey - I bought it at a tiny bookstore in Covent Garden, Treadwell's on Tavistock Street.

Do you have a favourite pub? What is so special about it?
I don't really have a favourite pub hang-out. We tend to go to lots of different bars, pubs and clubs. The last place I went to was Cabaret at Cirque.

What items are in your spring wardrobe?
I try to wear my winter clothes during spring because I love winter collections more than the summer stuff - it also saves me money. I'm really into my pale blue Marc Jacobs dress.

What do you listen to on your iPod?
My current top five songs are:
1. The Faint - 'Ballad of a Paralyzed Citizen'.
2. Fischerspooner - 'Mega C'.
3. Joy Division - 'She's Lost Control'.
4. Le Tigre - 'Deceptacon'.
5. Bonnie Tyler - 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'. 'One Word' the first single from Sleeping in The Nothing is out on 9 May, with the album released on 23 May

Drama
What was the last play you saw in London?
Willy Russell's Blood Brothers at the Phoenix Theatre, which I really enjoyed.

Scent
Which fragrance do you wear?
L'Artisan Parfumeur Mure et Musc Extrème.

Eating Out
What have been your most memorable London meals?
I went with some friends to the 'scary pub' - Garlic & Shots on Frith Street, W1. It's done out all year as if it's Hallowe'en and their speciality is homemade pies and mash. I also like Oscar, the restaurant in Charlotte Street Hotel.

In the pipeline
What are your current projects?
I'm currently promoting my album, Sleeping in the Nothing, and building a clothing label with my dear friend Ali Barone called Stiletto Killers.

Wheels
How do you get around town?
In my time machine - I wish! I spend so much time travelling, my life feels like a chapter from Planes, Trains and Automobiles. In London I use black cabs - a lot.

Top tracks
What was the last CD you bought?
Destroy Rock & Roll by Mylo. I usually shop at Amoeba, the best indie record store, on Sunset Boulevard or at amoebamusic.com.

Treats
What are your extravagances?
Definitely diamonds from Garrard, shoes by Alexander McQueen and clothes, particularly those by Marc Jacobs - a girl can never have enough of all three.

Holiday hotspots
Where were the last three places you went on holiday?
Hamilton Island, Queensland, Australia; Hawaii and Hawaii, one of the most beautiful places in the world. I'll go back there again this year if I can. I stay at a friend's house - we chill out on the beach or by the pool.

Little Black Book
Who is in your secret address book?
The big Topshop at Oxford Circus. Selfridges for just about everything and its American department store feel. Marks & Spencer for a truly British shopping experience. Marc Jacobs at Harvey Nichols - they have the widest range of his in London. And Wagamama - I love the way of the noodle.
