Katy vs Izzy catfight

When an It Girl and an ex-Blue Peter presenter were thrown together for a TV reality show, there were bound to be some differences of opinion.

But nobody from Channel 4's The Games expected the bitter rivalry that has developed between Lady Isabella Hervey and girl-next-door Katy Hill.

Their rows are the talking point of the nightly show, creating more interest than the celebrity contestants' sporting rivalry.

Today only one point stands between the two. The result from last night's hurdles was a second victory for Hill, but Lady Isabella is on top, with 15 points to Hill's 14.

The feud began during training several weeks ago, before the live shows started on Sunday.

Lady Isabella declared her intention to beat everyone else, prompting Capital Radio presenter Hill to refer to her as "Lady" or mistakenly by her elder sister's name, Victoria. Viewers have witnessed a series of extraordinary spats.

During training, Lady Isabella claimed she could not swim the front crawl - before performing perfectly in the pool. Hill confided to the camera that her rival must be desperate to win to have to "lie your way through it".

After Hill won the first event, cycling, she wept, claiming Lady Isabella was a bad loser. She said: "Why do they have to be so horrid to me?"

Lady Isabella's frostiness towards her rival caused Hill to hit out: "You've been cold to me from the start because you thought I was going to be competition. You've been quite nasty to me."

Lady Isabella complained Hill accused her of riding on the back of her elder sister Victoria's fame. She said: "What upset me is, you said I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for my sister. You're basically saying I'm nothing!".

Lady Isabella has her Maltese terrier, Cleo, with her. Hill said "She acts like it's normal to have a little dog with a ribbon in its hair and a diamanté collar and it's not." When Lady Isabella confronted her Hill said: "I do find that weird. It should not have that in its hair - it's nasty." Hill later appeared to back down, saying: "Let's just agree to disagree and be adults. It's just telly, it's not brain science."
