Kate finally says sorry

Kate Moss publicly apologised for her drug taking yesterday in a desperate attempt to stop the imploding of her career.

The 31-year-old model said she took 'full responsibility for my actions' and indicated she would be seeking help.

She released the statement eight days after she was pictured in a newspaper snorting cocaine.

But it came too late to save many of her most lucrative contracts and prevent an investigation by both police and social services.

Miss Moss said in her statement: 'I take full responsibility for my actions. I also accept that there are various personal issues that I need to address and have started taking the difficult, yet necessary, steps to resolve them.

'I want to apologise to all of the people I have let down because of my behaviour which has reflected badly on my family, friends, coworkers, business associates and others.

'I am trying to be positive, and the support and love I have received are invaluable.'

Her statement came yesterday evening after she spent the day begging both Christian Dior and Rimmel to keep her

on after the termination of her £400,000 deal with Burberry, £750,000 contract with Chanel and £500,000 deal with H&M.

Miss Moss is understood to have met Dior chiefs in New York who told her she needed to restore her image.

Earlier in the day Rimmel, which recently signed her to a £1million three-year contract to advertise its make-up, indicated it was ready to drop her.

'Rimmel London is shocked and dismayed by the recent press allegations surrounding Kate Moss's behaviour,' a spokesman said.

'We are currently reviewing her contract.'

Miss Moss's statement came too late to save her £100,000 contract with the jewellery firm H Stern which only took her on at the start of the month.
