Kate 'caught snorting coke'

Kate Moss was today accused of indulging in a massive cocaine session - two years after she said she had given up drugs for good. The supermodel, mother of a twoyearold girl, is pictured in the Daily Mirror apparently chopping out line after line of the class A drug.

The undercover pictures were taken at a west London studio where her boyfriend Pete Doherty is recording the new Babyshambles album.

They appear to show Moss - said by the newspaper to have kept her "mammoth stash" in her handbag - cutting fat lines of cocaine on the back of a CD cover and sharing them with Doherty and his entourage.

Ex-Clash guitarist Mick Jones, producing the record, is also seen snorting cocaine from the stash. Moss has admitted in general terms to past drugs problems but has never admitted taking cocaine.

In 1998 she told a Channel 4 documentary: "I don't do any class A - especially not heroin - after seeing what it does to people." Later that year she spent six weeks at the Priory, saying: "I've been doing a lot of work and too much partying ... I decided to take a step back and assess my life and future."

Moss said two years ago she had cleaned up her act. She told David Bowie in Q magazine: "Dabbling is fine but when I was bang on it, that wasn't a nice time ... I still drink but I don't do drugs."

Today's newspaper report alleges that she snorted five lines of cocaine in 40 minutes.

Moss, described as looking "unsteady and exhausted" as the evening wore on, chatted " merrily" about her daughter Lila Grace, whose father is magazine publisher Jefferson Hack.

The newspaper suggests Doherty was impatient for some cocaine, reporting that as Moss returned the wrap to her handbag, he lunged for the cocaine piled up in front of her, then spilled it, some going on his trousers. "It's gone now," she is said to have retorted. "You've missed it."

Doherty has spent time in rehab and claimed recently to have beaten his heroin addiction thanks to Moss. However, he was caught last month at Oslo airport with heroin and crack cocaine.
