Jeremy Clarkson sends warning to locals ahead of huge 'important' event at his farm

Jeremy Clarkson has given his Cotswolds neighbours a warning as his Diddly Squat farm prepares to host thousands in a huge event.

The former Top Gear star, 66, will hold Cereals 2026, one of the agriculture industry's largest trade shows, at his 1,000-acre farm in Oxfordshire on Wednesday and Thursday.

The event will feature crop plots, machinery demonstrations, expert seminars and networking opportunities for farmers and others in the industry.

Clarkson - who has battled a tuberculosis outbreak and relentless drought at his farm in the past - admitted farming is in “deep trouble” when he spoke to locals ahead of the event.

The presenter said it’s an “honour” to try to help the industry with the event and warned 60 locals about expected traffic in the area with 25,000 visitors likely to attend.

He said organisers "know what they're doing" and have been putting on the annual show in rural communities across the UK "for years", per the BBC.

"This is an important event, not just the agriculture sector nationally but for our local farming communities too,” Clarkson said.

"Farming is an industry that is in deep trouble. I have the honour to trying to put something back into this beleaguered world.”

The presenter - whose latest series of Clarkson’s Farm is out now - claimed the area will be “relatively undisturbed” thanks to various traffic management measures.

These will include a temporary 30mph speed limit on routes surrounding the farm and one-way systems on many of those roads to prevent gridlock. Access to the farm through the nearby village of Chadlington is also set be prevented.

Buses will transport attendees directly to the site, while parking at the farm is free in the hope of preventing traffic queues.

Organisers are said to be working with local schools to avoid any impact on students, including those sitting GCSE and A-level exams.

The event coincides with the return of Clarkson’s Farm to Amazon Prime, with the first few episodes of the fifth series dropping last week.

The fifth series has so far covered a number of dramas, including Clarkson being rushed to the hospital for emergency heart surgery.

He had a heart procedure in late 2024, getting a stent fitted to open up a blocked artery following concerning symptoms.
