Jared Leto set to star in Blade Runner sequel opposite Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford
Jared Leto has joined the cast of the forthcoming Blade Runner sequel.
The Oscar-winning actor will star alongside Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in the as-yet-untitled follow-up to the 1982 sci-fi classic.
Fresh from the Suicide Squad promo tour, Leto has now been confirmed as the latest addition to what is shaping up to be a sterling cast.
Producers are keeping the identity of Leto’s character under wraps for now, as they have done with Gosling’s.
Details might be thin on the ground, by Ford has been confirmed to reprise his iconic role as Rick Deckard.
Other confirmed cast members include Robin Wright and Mackenzie David as well as Ana de Armas and Dave Bautista.
Ridley Scott has handed over the directing reins to Sicario’s Denis Villeneuve, but is on board as an executive producer.
Dropping a few plot hints, Scott recently revealed that Ford would only be in part of the film.
He said: “Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it's about finding him; he comes in in the third act.”
The sequel has been penned by Hampton Fancher, who was co-writer of the original, and Michael Green.
