Jack will have curfew tag taken off

Tweed, 21, had his curfew lifted for the night on Sunday, following his wedding to the Big Brother star, after Justice Secretary Jack Straw stepped in.

Because Tweed behaved so well, he will have restrictions lifted when mother-of-two Jade, 27, who has terminal cancer, is close to death, according to sources.

Last month Tweed was released early from prison where he was serving a sentence for assault.

But he was tagged to ensure he kept to his curfew of being at his mother's home from 7pm to 7am - 20 minutes' drive from Jade's home in Upshire, Essex.

He appealed to the Ministry of Justice to let him off as he would have had to leave Jade's side even if she was slipping away, or the tag would have set off alarms. Tweed was crushed yesterday when his plea was vetoed by probation officials. But a Ministry of Justice source reportedly said the tag will be removed for a few days when Jade is dying. Friends of the teenage victim of the assault said that although he was furious Tweed had the curfew lifted for his wedding, being with Jade when she dies was "an entirely different request".

The EastEnders star, who died of cancer yesterday, had a chance meeting with Jade at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where they were both being treated.

Jade, 27, said today: "She was brilliant to me. She said just to keep fighting and make the most of my life. She was a lovely lady and all my love goes to her family." The BBC dedicated last night's episode of the soap to Richard, 65, who played Pauline Fowler for 22 years.
