Of course he did. He is, after all, the man responsible for the success of such groups as Boyzone and currently Westlife, who have had 13 number-one hits and who, two weeks ago, knocked Robbie Williams from the top of the album charts. "I'm delighted about that," says Walsh when I meet him in the Conrad hotel in Chelsea Wharf. "Robbie is just a jumped-up karaoke singer. I have no idea why he's been so successful. I'm so, so happy."
