How Ulrika rubbished her marriage

Days before her separation, Ulrika Jonsson told a TV audience that the only good thing about being married was having someone else to put the rubbish out, it emerged yesterday.

There was nothing else positive about having a husband, according to the 38-year-old TV presenter.

' The best thing about being married is definitely having someone who puts the rubbish out on a Wednesday night,' she said while recording an edition of the BBC1 children's show What Kids Really Think, which will be screened next month.

She added: 'It's the only thing I can think of. It's very handy and if you weren't married you'd have to do it yourself.' Miss Jonsson announced on Saturday that her two-year marriage to Lance Gerrard-Wright was over after he moved out of their home.

Their daughter Martha is 18 months old.

Miss Jonsson has escaped to her £2million house in Waxhold, Sweden, where yesterday she appeared looking frail and gaunt.

'It has been an incredibly rough past two weeks for Ulrika,' a friend told the Daily Mail. 'She arrived in Sweden on Saturday to try to get away from things but with all the stress of the break-up she has not been up to eating.'

Accompanied by her children Cameron, 11, Bo, four, and Martha, Miss Jonsson ventured out of her holiday home yesterday to spend the morning at a nearby friend's house where she was comforted by a stream of friends. Her first marriage-was to cameraman John Turnbull, the father of Cameron.

She met Mr Gerrard-Wright, 37, on the ITV1 programme Mr Right, in which she was meant to help him find the perfect woman.

Bo's father is German businessman Markus Kempen.

She has also had liaisons with Prince Edward, footballer Stan Collymore and Sven Goran Eriksson.
