Headliners at Hyde Park's first festival

The line-up for Hyde Park's first ever music festival has been announced with legendary band New Order headlining the opening night.

The four-day O2 Music Wireless Festival kicks off on Friday June 24, with dance music masters Basement Jaxx taking centre stage on Saturday June 25 and two of the UK’s best new bands Keane and Kasabian headlining on Wednesday June 29 and Thursday June 30 respectively.

Set up to celebrate contemporary and alternative music, there will be live performances from big names in the music biz, as well as a showcase for up-and-coming artists currently making waves underground.

If you’ve got festival fever there will also be markets, side shows, world food, chill out areas, an acoustic performance space and 'street' theatre.

The festival will mark another cornerstone of Hyde Park’s musical history which has included everything from the Rolling Stones' legendary free gig in 1969 through to performances from The Who, Queen, Pavarotti and Paul Weller, right up to last summer’s Red Hot Chili Peppers show.
