Haute cuisine in Regent's Park

Don't bother taking a barbecue to the park next month - Gary Rhodes, Michel Roux, Pierre Gagnaire, Giorgio Locatelli and Jean-Christophe Novelli will be doing the cooking at the Taste of London food festival.

In its second year, the festival is moving from Somerset House to Regent's Park to accommodate stands from 40 restaurants and 100 food producers from around Europe.

Fare from 12 Michelin-starred chefs will be on offer and dishes from restaurants including Sketch, Zuma, Le Gavroche, Novelli in The City, Roka and Smiths of Smithfield.

The four-day festival will run from 16 to 19 June, and all proceeds from a gala night will go to Maggie's, the cancer charity. The Evening Standard is backing a £1 million campaign to help the charity build London's first Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre.

Taste of London will provide al fresco entertainment with live music performances.

A new Wine Theatre run by suppliers will offer tasting sessions and masterclasses on how to match wine and food.
