Has Scarlett met her Match?

Scarlett Johansson was giving nothing away at the London premiere of her new movie.

Dressed demurely, the actress kept her distance from Josh Hartnett, the actor rumoured to be her new boyfriend.

Johansson was in London for the premiere of Match Point, Woody Allen's latest movie and his first set entirely outside the US.

The dress she had planned to wear for the occasion was held up by customs, so Johansson, 21, wore a modest navy Dolce & Gabbana number.

She was also discreet about her relationship with Hartnett, the star of Pearl Harbour and Black Hawk Down. He appeared at last night's post-premiere party at Asprey in Bond Street, but the couple steered clear of each other, thwarting photographers' attempts to picture them together.

However, Hartnett smiled and blushed when asked what he thought of Johansson's work in Match Point. "Scarlett's great in the movie," he said.

The couple met filming Black Dahlia in Bulgaria and are said to have had a number of dates following the break-up of Johansson's relationship with actor Jared Leto.

The actress, arriving for the premiere at the Curzon cinema in Mayfair, said that as usual, Woody Allen disapproved of her choice of dress. She said: "He said that what I am wearing tonight is 'very interesting'. Woody would be very happy if I wore the kind of dress I wore in the movie, white and linen, but I don't think that would go down very well in the Golden Globes."

Johansson said she loved her time filming in London. "I always have a wonderful experience here," she said. "I was filming here for seven months and it was great for the shopping and eating."

Allen filmed Match Point - which he also wrote - in Marylebone and Chelsea. The film has received four Golden Globe nominations and opens in Britain on 6 January.
