Harry's girl wants to be famous

The 19-year-old girlfriend of Prince Harry is said to have told a photographer: 'I really want to be famous.'

After a weekend in which her name has been mentioned in the same breath as Harry and marriage, she appears to have fulfilled the ambition.

Brett Florens was behind the lens last year as Miss Davy posed for a modelling portfolio in sheer silk skirt and Union Flag cropped T-shirt.

'No-one knew what was coming then, but the T-shirt was a lucky choice,' said Mr Florens.

Yesterday it emerged that Miss Davy's father has flown to meet Harry for the first time. Multi-millionaire Charles Davy arrived at the weekend on the remote island of Bazaruto, off Mozambique, in a private plane to spend a week-long holiday with the third in line to the throne.

Zimbabwean Mr Davy, whose alleged links with the country's despotic president Robert Mugabe have deeply worried Clarence House, had hoped to keep his visit secret.

His wife, Beverly, and son, Shaun, are on the island already, staying with Harry and Chelsy and Mr Davy was very keen to meet Harry, who has been dating Chelsy for almost nine months.

'Chelsy is his only daughter and he is very protective of her,' said Mr Davy's own father, Tony, who helps run his business interests in Africa. 'I am sure it will be a little nerve-wracking for Harry, as it would be for any young man meeting his girlfriend's father for the first time.' Mr Davy senior dismissed reports that the couple were planning engagement, but conceded the relationship was 'very, very' serious. 'They are extremely keen on each other,' he said.
