Grubs up for celebrities

It was the day we'd all been waiting for - when the pampered airheads were forced to fill their motor mouths with live cockroaches and ants.

Jordan and Kerry McFadden yesterday went head-to-head in the Bite For Bite challenge on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

For starters, glamour model Jordan had to eat two bush cockroaches while McFadden, 23, knocked back a handful of green ants amid sobs of 'They are like raisins with loads of hair on them'.

They were, of course, warned that each portion must be chewed properly and that they were not allowed to throw it up - or they would lose a meal.

Ex-Atomic Kitten star McFadden then proceeded directly to the cockroaches as Jordan gnawed away at some mill worms.

Three-inch grubs were next on the menu.

McFadden could not stomach them, but Jordan sucked them down like a veteran.

Then on to the final dish of the day - fish eyes. McFadden refused, declaring they had 'a bit of conjunctivitis'.

But Jordan, 25, proved she would put anything in her mouth. 'It's still alive,' she shrieked as she wolfed them down. 'It tastes like blood - do we get tooth floss?'

In the end, they won seven meals to share with their fellow D-listers.

Meanwhile, Alex Best, estranged wife of soccer star George, is to take on more trouble as she faces snakes and spiders in a bid to win food for her jungle pals in reality show 'I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!".

The former air hostess was nominated by a public vote to undertake the next Bushtucker Trial last night.

Alex's Tunnel of Trouble challenge will see her attempt to crawl through five tanks containing snakes and spiders, and pick up 10 stars with her mouth.
