Goldie in Brits punch-up fracas

Actor and DJ Goldie was involved in a punchup after attending a Brit Awards party.

The 39-year-old lashed out in front of photographers outside the Marquee Club in Leicester Square after he was prevented from entering an aftershow event.

Goldie, who has appeared in EastEnders and the Bond movie The World Is Not Enough, became embroiled in a fight with a bouncer outside the nightspot.

The DJ - real name Clifford Price - had spent the night in The Penthouse venue and tried to barge his way into the Marquee. But the bouncer refused to let him in, at which point the DJ went on the offensive, only to be left in the street with a cut lip. "It was a nasty punch-up," said one onlooker.

"In the end Goldie had to be dragged away but they both left looking pretty bloodied up. No one knew what happened, it just kicked off all of a sudden."

But the Brits were dominated by teenager Joss Stone - without the help of rock 'n' roll excess. Accompanied by her mother Wendy, she celebrated a double win.

The 17-year-old soul diva - whose real name is Joscelyn Stoker - beat rivals Jamelia, PJHarvey and Natasha Bedingfield to take the coveted best female gong.

Her mother gave up work in property to manage her, although the star recently signed up with a more experienced manager.

The middle-class Devon teenager was taken aback to be named best urban act, beating acts such as Dizzee Rascal and The Streets.

"I don't know what to say," she confessed, giggling. "I don't like doing this at all. I don't even know what to do right now. Thank you all you guys for voting for me, I feel sick."

The big winners were flamboyant US pop act Scissor Sisters, who took three accolades - best international group, international album and international breakthrough act.

Robbie Williams' Angels was named best song of the past 25 years, garnering the star his 15th Brit award. The singer looked panicstricken when host Chris Evans told him it would be presented by former Take That bandmates Gary Barlow and Howard Donald. But Little Britain stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams appeared dressed as the duo.
