Kingly Club

On the site of what used to be the notorious Pinstripe Club, where John Profumo first met Christine Keeler, is now the ultra-modern Kingly Club. The owners pitch it "as if Sketch and St. Martin's Lane got together and had a baby", and that gives you a good enough impression of Kingly's sexy and stylish décor. It's fairly small, and a bit rabbit-warren-like, but careful use of white leather, spectacular aquariums and gorgeous lighting more than make up for it. It was recently voted 'Best Bar in London 2004' — so what other incentive do you need to become one of the beautiful people?

The Groucho Club

Arguably one of Britain's most famous members' clubs, this spot on Dean Street has played host to some of the most famous faces in London's literary and media scene. With function rooms, bars, bedrooms and dining rooms available to its high-flying members, the Groucho remains the bastion of glitterati London, many of whom regard it as a second home.

Soho House

Opening in 1995 as the new, hip place for London's literati and meeja faces to hang out at, Soho House swiftly became the place to be seen. With a bar, dining room, cinema and stunning roofdeck terrace, it's oh-so-Sex and the City. But don't get any funny ideas about it being a hotbed of drugged-up media types — all flat surfaces were removed after Jude Law and Sadie Frost's daughter Iris accidentally swallowed an Ecstasy tablet there in 2002. Teatro

Owned by Leslie Ash and Lee Chapman, Teatro's had the shine rubbed off it a little over time, but it's still a good place to go to escape the Soho mania. Decked out in the opulent, squashy-sofa East-meets-West style of SO.UK (in the same building), it's intimate but sexy, with the right sort of atmosphere to keep you ordering cocktails all night long...!
